Gladiators Crib
THE STORY
My dad named me Maximus for a reason.
So visiting this place felt like something more than simply seeing another historic landmark. Standing in front of the Colosseum, surrounded by thousands of years of history, was genuinely surreal.
There’s something about places like this that you can’t quite explain. The history isn’t only in the stone — you can feel it in the energy of the place, in the scale, in the stories that have passed through it.
And this is where film photography feels especially special to me.
Film has a way of becoming a time capsule. There’s something about looking at this photograph that makes you wonder when it could have been taken.
It could have been yesterday.
It could have been fifty years ago.
Or, in another world, it could have been captured centuries ago.
The Colosseum has watched generations come and go, and somehow it’s still standing beneath the same Italian sun.
Two thousand years of history, held in a single frame.
A little piece of Rome, frozen in time.
